Arshad Warsi is a well-known Indian actor who has produced some movies and appeared in television shows. His date of birth is 19 April 1968. Having acted in different types of films, he is famous for his distinctive acting style and strong personality. Before starting his acting career, he was a part of English theatre. Arshad Warsi has sung songs also. People in India and abroad know him for his famous role in the movie Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Early Life

Arshad Warsi was given the surname Warsi by his family and his real surname is Khan. His father, Ahmad Ali Khan was a Muslim and he was a devotee of Waris Pak, who founded and started the Warsi Sufi order. Thus, Arshad was given this surname. Ahmad Ali Khan had an interest in music and singing. He was a poet too, and has been diagnosed with bone cancer, he died when Arshad Warsi was very young. Arshad’s mother also expired soon due to kidney disease. 

Arshad Warsi joined a boarding school situated in Nashik In Maharashtra. His school's name was Barnes School. Arshad studied till the tenth class and quit school after this. He became an orphan when he was just 14 years old. Poor financial circumstances and lack of money made him take the work of selling cosmetics when he was 17. After some time, he joined a photo studio as an employee. He had an interest in dancing. 

Arshad Warsi became a member of a dance group in Mumbai that developed his dancing and acting skills in him. This was Akbar Sami’s group. Arshad won dance competitions in 1991 and 1992. He won a prize in a world dance competition. This led to the opening of a dance studio by Arshad Warsi. The name of this dance studio was Awesome. Arshad started a dance troupe along with this. 

Acting Career

Arshad Warsi worked as Mahesh Bhatt’s assistant in a movie in 1987. His dancing skills laid the foundation of a choreography career. Having got a minor role, he appeared in a song as a dancer in his initial years of his acting career. Later, Arshad Warsi was given roles in many movies from 1997 to 2002. His performance was appreciated. Some of his movies didn’t become a success. Arshad Warsi was mostly given the role of a common man in the movie and his acting was liked by people. The portrayal of Circuit in Munna Bhai M.M.B.S. gave widespread fame and appreciation to Arshad Warsi. The movie was a very big hit at that time. Arshad Warsi was given the Best Actor In A Comic Role Award for his role in the movie. 

The movie Salaam Namaste was released in 2005 and gave Arshad Warsi the Best Supporting Actor Award. He has acted in a suspense thriller movie and his role is a commendable one. Arshad Warsi is most loved by the public for his great acting skills in the Golmaal series of movies. The first movie in this series was released in 2006. Arshad Warsi has acted in many comic movies and he looks good in funny roles. He has received praise from critics and fans both. Arshad Warsi began his acting life in Bollywood with the movie Tere Mere Sapne, released in 1996. The producer of this movie was Amitabh Bachchan. Arshad was given the GIFA Best Comedian Award for his role in the movie Hulchul in 2004. He was appreciated for his role of Circuit in the movie Lage Raho Munna Bhai, for which he won the Best Performance In A Comic Role Award by Filmfare. The movie also got IIFA and Screen Award For Best Supporting Actor. This movie was a sequel to the first Munna Bhai movie in which Arshad acted. Arshad Warsi acted in a comedy movie Ishqiya in 2010, for which he was given the Best Supporting Actor Award by Screen.
