Aamir Khan belongs to a Muslim family and his birthplace is Bandra in Mumbai. His parents are Tahir Hussain and Zeenat Hussain. The family has a Bollywood connection, as his father was a film producer. Many other people in Aamir’s family worked in the film industry. The well-known producer Late Nasir Hussain was Aamir’s uncle from his father’s family side. Aamir Khan has three younger siblings. His younger brother is Faisal Khan who has acted in some movies. The younger sisters of Aamir Khan are Farhat and Nikhat. Imran Khan, a well-known actor of Hindi movies is Aamir’s nephew.
Since the family of Aamir Khan has a film background, the seeds of acting were instilled in his mind when he was just a child. He started acting during his childhood days. When Aamir Khan was 8 years old, he acted in the movie Yaadon Ki Baraat, in which he played a role in a song. The movie was directed by Aamir’s uncle Nasir Hussain. At the age of 9, Aamir Khan played a role in the movie Madhosh, which was produced by his father.
Aamir Khan studied at the St. Anne’s High School located in Mumbai in Bandra for education up to 8th class. He was sent by his parents to Bombay Scottish School situated in Mumbai in Mahim for 9th class and high school. Aamir took interest in sports in his school and participated in state-level games in tennis. Aamir Khan did his 12th class from Narsee Monjee College. Filmography
Aamir Khan began his acting career in adulthood in the movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988. This movie became a big hit and launched Aamir in Bollywood as a romantic hero. His co-star in this movie was Juhi Chawla. Aamir Khan gave another hit in the movie Raja Hindustani in 1996. He started his own production company in 1999. The movie Lagaan under this production company got a national award. One of his movies Taare Zameen Par was made on the theme of dyslexia. The movie was successful commercially and people gave a positive response to it. Another movie of Aamir Khan-Secret Superstar was released in 2017 and was nominated for Filmfare awards.
