In early acting career, the actor did not receive a good response from the audience. He made his debut in the industry with Saat Hindustani and the movie did not performed well at the box office. With 12 flop movies at the beginning, the actor journey did not had a good start.
The first blockbuster and Amitabh never looked back
After a long struggle, the first movie that recorded a big hit was Zanjeer and with this movie he broke every stereotype of actors in the industry. This movie marked a new beginning of the actor. It was a crime thriller movie that had a powerful role of AB. He evolved as an ‘Angry Young Man’ from this movie and his performance was appreciated greatly by the audiences. With this success, not only his career but his personal life got a new direction and he was married to actress Jaya Bhaduri.

In the beginning of his career, he was also playing supporting actor roles. It was "Anand" (1971) that had Rajesh Khanna in the leading role, still the work of this actor received huge appreciation. With these movies, his stardom had a great hike and till then he was a well established one in the Bollywood industry. Recovery after the accident on the 'Coolie' set: Amitabh Bachchan
While shooting for the movie, he meets with an accident, the experience was so bad that even the family lost the hope of his complete recovery but with so many players and wishes of his fans, he recovered and was back to the shoot. The movie was a blockbuster of that time. Meanwhile, he also won his first National award in the year 1990 for the movie Agneepath.
