Introduction
Kriti Sanon, a young and talented Hindi film actress entered Bollywood after making her debut in Telugu Films with Nenokkadine. Before that, she was engaged in her modeling career and was pursuing engineering at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. Heropanti was her debut movie in Bollywood. Some of the great performances can be seen in Dilwale, Houseful 4, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and in Luka chuppi.
Early Life
Kriti Sanon belongs to an Indian Punjabi family. She was born in Delhi on 27th July 1990. Her father Rahul Sanon is a Chartered Accountant by profession and her mother Geeta Sanon is a physics professor. Nupur Sanon is her younger sister. She has done her schooling at Delhi Public School and then she completed her bachelor’s degree in Electronics & telecommunication engineering.
Acting career
Kriti Sanon made her debut in the year 2014 through a Telugu movie called Nenokkadine, where she played the role of Journalist Sameera who falls in love with Mahesh babu role. The actress received an average response from the critics and the audiences. She looked beautiful and acted well as a newcomer. Thereafter she entered Bollywood with the movie Heropanti paring with Tiger Shroff. The movie received mixed reviews; still, it worked well at the box office. She even won the Filmfare Award for the said movie for the best female debut. The next Telugu movie which she signed was Dohchay which was a crime movie and also included Naga Chaitanya. The next action movie where she was seen was Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale.
She shared the screen with so many big stars in this movie with starrer Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Varun Dhawan. The movie received a huge success and was the most engrossing movie of that time. She was also paired with Sushant Singh Rajput in Raabta. This movie was the directorial debut of Dinesh Vijan. But the movie failed to entertain the audience and was financially unsuccessful. The other romantic & comedy movie Bareilly Ki Barfi was on the floor where she appeared with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkumar Rao. The movie did better than her previous release and her work was praised.
In the year 2019, she was paired with Kartik Aaryan in the movie Luka Chuppi which was yet another comedy romantic movie based on live-in-relationship. The movie received mixed reviews but was successful commercially. It collected 1.29 billion all over the world. Houseful 4 and Arjun Patiala were two comedy movies on her list after that. She also portrayed the role of Parvatibai in Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic movie Panipat which was based on the Battle of Panipat-3. The other lead actor in the same movie was Arjun Kapoor. With so many hit movies, she was placed in the 38th position on Forbes’ India’s celebrity 100 lists. She also appeared in many movies as a guest appearance such as Stree for the song Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe, movie Pati, Patni Aur Woh, Kalank, and Angrezi Medium.
Not only movies, she is also endorsing many brands such as Bata, Titan Watches, Parachute, and several others. She also owns a clothing brand called Ms. Taken. She won International Indian Film Academy Awards in the category of Star Debut of the Year (Female) for Heropanti. However, she was nominated for other movies in different categories. She is a young talent who is gaining name and appreciation for her work in the Indian film industry.
