Deepika Padukone is an actress as well as a producer working in Indian cinema. She belongs to Saraswat Brahmin Family. Deepika Padukone has won hearts with her brilliant performance not only in India but also has an everlasting impact on foreign audiences. Early life

Her family's native language is Konkani. She belongs to a well-to-do family, her father Prakash Padukone is a former badminton player whereas her mother Ujjala Padukone is a travel agent. 

For Deepika Padukone’s education, she schooled in Sophia High School, Bangalore and for her pre-university, she was enrolled in Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Later Deepika Padukone also applied for a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology specialization from Indira Gandhi Open University, but couldn’t complete the course later because of conflicting schedules.

Talking about Deepika Padukone's initial schooling days, she expressed that she was an introverted person and she wanted to make her career in badminton itself. She even played competitively in her schooling days. Deepika Padukone played badminton tournaments for national-level championships and also played some state-level baseball tournaments. Meanwhile, she also worked as a child model in some of the advertisements. It was in the tenth standard when Deepika Padukone realized that she wanted to do something in the fashion/acting industry. And she was playing and into sports just because it was running in her family, as per an interview given by Deepika.

In her initial days, she started by modeling for several advertisements. She gained popularity for her Liril soap advertisement. Deepika Padukone later got her debut runway show for the designer Suneet Varma in Lakme Fashion Week and also won the 'Model of the Year Kingfisher award. Later in 2006, Deepika Padukone also appeared in the Kingfisher calendar. The same year Deepika Padukone also appeared in a music video by Himesh Reshammiya’s song ‘Naam Hai Tera’ and gained wide popularity. It was then she came into notice and got recommended for a movie role. To gain some experience in acting Deepika Padukone also joined Anupam Kher’s film academy.

Acting career

Deepika Padukone made her acting debut with a Kannada film, Aishwarya. Later she did a Telugu film Manmadhudhu. This movie was a commercial success. For her Bollywood debut, she started with 'Om Shanti Om' in the year 2007. Later Deepika Padukone gave some 100-crore club movie. With each passing movie, Deepika Padukone aced all the roles given to her. She gave some amazing movies with different themes. She proved that she was a versatile actor in playing roles like a chill next-door girl in Cocktail to some magnificent roles like Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani. 

Filmography

Deepika Padukone started her career with Om Shanti Om. She also won the Best Debut Filmfare Award for the same role. Later she did some amazing performances in movies like Cocktail, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Piku, Tamasha, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Zero, and Chhapaak. She even did debut in Hollywood through xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Deepika Padukone has been nominated for various nomination categories and she has won many as well. Deepika Padukone was also featured in some of the music videos. She has been actively supporting causes like mental health awareness and running a foundation herself. Deepika Padukone has received immense love from her audience because of her brilliant performance and kind personality.
