Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi Movie Review:
Manikarnika movie starts with the voice of Amitabh Bachchan where he is trying to get the attention of audience on how India was richest country in the world & later on how it was plundered by British colonials.
The narration of this movie is directed by Kangana Ranaut along with Krish, showing you some internal struggles within the family of Jhansi Ki Rani & showcase unravelling important moments of 18th century. Some events like Meerut Sepoy mutiny that happened in the year 1857 was also used as the reference but the main focus remains on Jhansi Ki Rani’s rebellion against the British army.
The movie employs great sense of brilliant visual effects that are easily noticeable and hampers the film’s realism. Dialogues executed by Prasoon Joshi in this movie are quite impactful & applause-worthy. Dialogues are very much successful in stoking a patriotic feeling inside you. The 1st half of this movie is built up with great presence of mind to set up a historical premise in front of you but at the same time, it is too long. On the other hand, the 2nd half is focussed on some real drama that unfolds great scenes of the battlefield with intense action, bloody killings, loss & triumph, escape etc.
The movie showcased many cinematic liberties as well as some fictional detours to make sure that you will get an amazing war drama story with a strong connection of entertainment that binds you all together. The background music done by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy adds patriotic flavours to this movie.
Overall we can say that it’s a well-crafted movie that perfectly highlights the Kangana’s powerful performance as an actor. Filmmaker has shown hidden spark & potential as a brilliant storyteller. This larger-than-life movie with war drama genre has great valour & spirit to keep you engaged in all manners with some pages of history.
