Introduction

Trisha Krishnan is an Indian actress who works in the South Film Industry. She has worked in Tamil and Telugu films. She also won the beauty contest of Miss Chennai in the year 1999. She is known as the queen of the South film industry due to her amazing performances in the films. Some of her movies that gave her recognition are Saamy, Ghilli, and Aaru which are Tamil films, and Varsham, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, and Athadu which are Telugu cinema. She got her first Filmfare Award for the film Varsham in 2004 in the category of Best Telugu Actress in a Lead role. 

Early life

Trisha Krishnan was born in the Palakkad Iyer family in Chennai. She went to Sacred Heart Matriculation School in Church Park, Chennai for her early education, and later she did BBA from Ethiraj College for Women (Chennai). She was part of many beauty Pageants content. She also won the Beautiful smile title in Miss India 2001 contest. During the early stage of her acting, she was seen in the music video called Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye. Trisha Krishnan started her career as an actress with the film Lesa Lesa directed by Priyadarshan. 

Acting Career

Trisha Krishnan started with Lesa Lesa, but she was seen as a supporting actress in Jodi. Her first release was Ameer's Mounam Pesiyadhe which was a moderate success. Her next film was Saamy with Vikram in which she performed a Brahmin girl and received a positive response. Her film Enakku 20 Unakku 18 which was unsuccessful but her performance was appreciated. Trisha Krishnan made her Telugu Film Industry debut with the film Varsham. The film was a big hit and she became a star with this film. Her next film was opposite Vijay in the action comedy film Ghilli. It was Trisha's biggest commercial success. The next films in which she was seen were Thirupaachi and Aaru.

Filmography

Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana which was the directorial debut of Prabhu Deva was the most prominent film that changed her life. The film received many awards and became one of the top-grossing films. Trisha Krishnan won the Filmfare Award and the first Nandi Award. She was next seen in Ji and Aathi, in which she was cast with Ajith Kumar and Vijay, respectively.  The film Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule was a family entertaining film in which she was cast opposite Venkatesh. The film received a good response. Her film King opposite Nagarjuna was a blockbuster film.

Trisha Krishnan’s year 2009 started with some average films like Sarvam with Arya and Sankham opposite Gopichand. In 2010, she signed a Tamil romantic drama film called Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, which was a super hit. In the same year, she made her Bollywood debut with the film Khatta Meetha.  Trisha Krishnan's two films Theenmaar in Telugu and Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha in Tamil were the most successful films. In 2012, she was paired with Daggubati Venkatesh in the film Bodyguard. In 2013 she also did a comedy-drama called Endrendrum Punnagai. 

In 2015 Trisha Krishnan’s films includes Yennai Arindhaal, Thoongavanam, and Bhooloham. In 2018, she made her Malayalam debut with the film Hey Jude. For Tamil romantic drama '96 she was praised by critics and she won many awards like Filmfare Awards South, SIIMA Awards, Edison Awards, and many more. Trisha Krishnan is an animal and she is a Goodwill Ambassador of PETA. She is also the brand ambassador of Scooty Pep+, Vivel Di Wills, and Fairever Fairness cream. Her mother Uma Krishnan was also offered many films but she refused as she wanted to support her daughter in her acting career. She was also engaged to Varun Manian, but later they broke their relationship.
