Introduction  

Shruti Haasan is an Indian actress and singer. She works in the South film industry and Bollywood films. She is the daughter of a famous actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur. Shruti started her acting career with Hindi Film Luck in the year 2009. But got recognition with Telugu film Oh My Friend, Anaganaga O Dheerudu, and the Tamil science-fiction actioner 7aum Arivu. Her successful films include Gabbar Singh, Balupu, Yevadu, Race Gurram, Srimanthudu, Premam, Krack, and Vakeel Saab. Apart from acting, she is also active in the Indian music industry also. She is an established singer and has been nominated for various awards as the best playback singer. In her music career, she started working as a music director in her father's production. She also has a separate band also.  

Early life

Shruti Haasan was born to a family that is connected to the film industry for many years. Kamal Haasan, one of the great Indian actors, and Sarika Thakur, a famous actress are the proud parents of Shruti Haasan. She was born in Madras. Her younger sister Akshara Haasan is also an actress. Shruti did her schooling at Lady Andal School which is in Chennai. Afterward, she shifted to Mumbai for studying psychology at St. Andrew's College.  

Career life

Shruti Haasan's first film as a child artist was Hey Ram which was directed by Kamal Hasan. She was signed for the film Saroja but the film did not start. In 2008 she was signed for a film called Luck in which she was opposite to Imran Khan. The film was released in 2009 but did not receive a good response. Shruti Haasan also appeared in many promotional videos like Hisss. She made her debut in the Telugu film industry in the year 2011with the fantasy adventure film Anaganaga O Dheerudu. She appeared as a guest artist in Madhur Bhandarkar's romantic comedy film Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji. The film had positive reviews.  

In 2010, Haasan got her next film by AR Murugadoss called 7aum Arivu opposite Suriya. She played the role of a young scientist in the film. The review of the film was average but it turned out to be a commercially successful film. The period from 2012 to 2017 was very crucial for Shruti Haasan. Her next film was "3". It was the director's debut of Aishwarya Dhanush. The film gained very popularity before its release date as for the first time two daughters of a famous south star were collaborating.  

Shruti's next film was Harish Shankar's Telugu film Gabbar Singh. This film was the remake of the Hindi film Dabangg (2010). The film was a great success and this brought so many films to offer her. In 2013, she appeared in the next Telugu film named Balupu which was a super hit film in the film industry. In the same year, she did two Hindi films. One was Ramaiya Vastavaiya and the other was D-Day. In 2014 her Telugu film Yevadu, opposite Ram Charan was a big hit. In Race Gurram, she shared the silver screen for the first time with Allu Arjun.

In 2015, Shruti Haasan did many films such as Gabbar Is Back,  Srimanthudu, Welcome Back, and Puli. In 2016 she appeared in Rocky Handsome and the Telugu film Premam. In the next year 2017, she appeared in Katamarayudu, Si3, and Behen Hogi Teri. She made her American television debut in 2019 with the action drama series Treadstone. Shruti Haasan returned back with the short film Devi, Yaara, and Putnam Pudhu Kaalai in the year 2020. In the year 2021, she did Telugu action film, Krack. The Power, Vakeel Saab, and Pitta Kathalu were the other films in the same year.
