Introduction

The Baahubali actress is actually named as Sweety Shetty and in the Industry she has been known as Anushka Shetty. She is one of those actresses enjoying a reputed position and fame in the Telugu and Tamil films Industry. This face was first seen in the year 2005 in a Telugu film “Super” and thereafter she never looked back. She achieved huge success with some blockbuster movies such as Singam (2010), its sequel Singam II (2013) and Yennai Arindhaal (2015). She also got recognition in the Bollywood with mega film Baahubali.   

Early Life

Anushka Shetty belongs to Karnataka from Mangalore from a Bellipady Uramalu Guthu family. She is a proud child of Prafulla and A. N. Vittal Shetty. The other members in her family include her two elder brothers named Gunaranjan Shetty and Sai Ramesh Shetty. She has done her Bachelor of Computer Applications from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Apart from this, she has also trained as a yoga instructor under Bharat Thakur. 

Acting Career

The debut movie of Anushka Shetty was Puri Jagannadh’s Film Super which was released in the year 2005 and the other stars along with Anushka were Akkineni Nagarjuna and Ayesha Takia. She was also seen in Maha Nadi the same year and Srihari and Sumanth were the other actors in it. The beautiful actress won the heart of the audience with her performance at her initial stage itself. Later in the year 2006, S. S. Rajamouli's Vikramarkudu and three other movies were on the screen.  Vikramarkudu was with Ravi Teja and this movie made her very popular in Andhra Pradesh. Lakshyam (2007) was hit at the box office and after that, she also appeared in Raghava Lawrence’s Don where she was casted with Nagarjuna. Some of the movies in her list that took her at great heights are Arundhati in the year 2009, Vedam in 2010, Rudramadevi and Size Zero in 2015 and Baahubali in the same year. 

Filmography

With Film Arundhati in the year 2009, she for the first time in 2009 played a female-centric role that to two roles. She collected much appreciation for her performance in the movie. Billa was another movie which received a mixed response from the audience. Anushka Shetty’s action-packed movie Vettaikkaran in which she was opposite Vijay did not impress the audience and received not-so-good reviews. Vedam, Deiva Thirumagal, Mirchi opposite Prabhas and Irandam Ulagam opposite Arya were some of her next released movies. She performed equally and was admirable. The first part of Baahubali was out in 2015 and this became the most earned movie at the box office. The way she performed was remarkable and was regarded as a lady superstar. Baahubali 2: The conclusion added more to her account as Devasena. Her chemistry with Prabhas was praised and she looks beautiful in the movie. In the year 2018, in the Telugu horror thriller film Bhaagamathie, Anushka Shetty was seen in a different role. She played as an IAS officer called Chanchala who was behind the bars for killing her fiancé. The way she played both Chanchala and the revengeful Bhaagamathie alternative in the movie is remarkable. 

It was her outstanding performances in several movies for which she won many awards. In the year 2018, she won Filmfare Awards – Telugu (best actress) for the movie Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The movies for which she won the award for best actress in Filmfare Awards – Telugu are Rudhramdevi, Vedam and Arundhati. She won the hearts of the audience with her outstanding performances. She kept on experimenting with the roles and is regarded as the queen of hearts.
