Non-Payment of Hard-Earned Money to the TV stars has made them face financial crises
With the suicide of Manmeet Grewal, due to struggling over finances and loss of work amidst lockdown, dark truths about the glamorous industry are being revealed.
The cast and crew of Hamari Bahu Silk, ZEE TV Drama serial that went off-air last year, made shocking confessions for not being paid for their endeavours. Yes, the pressure of financial crises made actors of the show to come out and reveal the truth that producers have not paid them their hard-earned money, despite of a credit period of more than 6 months.
The news got myriad attention from all over the audience when the cast and crew members of the show threatened to commit suicide if they dues are not cleared on an immediate basis.
Zaan Khan updated his Instagram with videos of various people working for the show from the assistant director, cameraman, stylist, spot boy, make-up artist and others shading their tears of grievances against non-payment of salary.
The lead actress Kirti Choudhary said, "It's been a year our payments are stuck and as we have worked for 7 months for about 17 to 18 hours every day." She begs the production team to help them, as they need it badly. The actress further revealed that she had to leave her house in Mumbai as was unable to pay rent. Having no further options had to return to her parents as she was helpless. According to the actress, "Everyone used all their savings for travelling to the sets and for other expenses."
With the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, and the situation of lockdown prevailing since last two months, the whole world is facing a financial crisis. "Heartbreaking situation arising due to non-payment of dues could lead to drastic steps like suicide. So we decided to bring it out in the open." Zaan Khan said.
