Top Five Weekend Openers of 2018: Padmaavat, Baaghi 2, Raid, Pad Man and Veere Di Wedding
2018 is a year of unpredictability, the movie with a meaning reached the top weekend openers.
Years come and go but the phase of movies in Bollywood and their story at the weekend box office will remain unpredictable. Again this year although some movies missed at top 5 weekend opening but surprisingly some of the best movies won the battle and became the Top five weekend openers of 2018 as stated by Trade analyst Taran Adarsh who shared the list on Twitter.

Padmaavat @ Rs 114 crore
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat had an impressive start as the film earned Rs 19 crore on first day and became the top five weekend openers of 2018. Deepika Padukone played queen Padmavati in the film together with Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in unforgettable roles. The movie entered the Rs 100 crore club in its first four days only.
Baaghi 2 @ Rs 73.10 crore
Sequel to 2016 film Baaghi, Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani starrer Baaghi 2 continues to be the top five weekend openers of 2018. The film remains the biggest opener this year with Rs 25.10 crore a staggering amount for a small budget film.
Pad Man @ Rs 40.05 crore
Akshay Kumar's social drama based on the life of social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, picked everybody’s interest. The film earned Rs 10.26 crore on the first day of its release.This R Balki directorial was bankrolled by Twinkle Khanna starred Pad Man Akshay Kumar with Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.
Raid @ Rs 41.01 crore
With positive and rave reviews from movie critics Ajay Devgn's and Ileana D’Cruz crime drama Raid, was a solo release at the box. Based on the real-life Income-tax raid in the 1980s, the movie bagged Rs 41.01 crore in its opening weekend, with Rs 10.04 crore on its day one alone.
Veere Di Wedding @ Rs 36.52 crore
Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor’s latest release Veere Di Wedding has become the new entry on the list of the top five weekend openers of 2018. Director Shashanka Ghosh managed to bring the movie amongst the third top opener of 2018 Veere Di Wedding, collected Rs 36.52 crore in first three days of its release.
