Joseph Russo full name is Joseph Vincent Russo. He is an American filmmaker and producer. Joseph Russo along with his brother Anthony Russo is known as Russo brothers and they are one of the popular names in the Hollywood Film Industry for their outstanding direction. Both the brothers have directly some of the best and highest engrossing films such as the Marvel films Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame and You, Me and Dupree, Cherry.

Early life

Joseph Russo is an American and was born in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. He did his schooling from Benedictine High School and graduation from University of Lowa. His father is Basil Russo and mother is Patricia Russo. The other sibling in his family includes Anthony Russo who is working with him as director and film maker. Both the brothers are well known name in the Hollywood Film Industry. Before directing the most successful marvel cinematic universe films, he worked as television and film director. Joe Russo is also known for his great work in the field of TV comedy. He is also an actor, screenwriter, occasional producer, and editor.

Film & TV Direction Career

To begin with Television shows, Joseph Russo directed TV series such as 'Arrested Development,' 'Lucky,' 'LAX,' 'Carpooler,' 'What About Brian,' 'Comedy Showcase' and 'Community, and 'Running Wild.' He was also an executive producer of 'Community,' and 'Happy Ending'. The list of other TV shows in which he was director and producer was 'Animal Practice,' 'Up All Night,' 'Deadly Class' and 'The Dangerous World Of Comedy' by Larry Charles and more. Joseph Russo’s work was appreciated by the audience and this was the reason why his shows were widely recognized. It was not easy for him to begin with his direction career. Joseph Russo along with his brother started direction by taking a student loan. The first movie they produced was Pieces. The first film Joseph Russo directed with his brother was You, Me and Dupree.

Joseph Russo’s direction career got a big turning point when he was given a chance of directing Marvel series movies. Some of the films Joseph Russo has directed are Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Apart from these films he also directed Agent Carter Episode Bridge and Tunnel. Not only direction, he also did some portion of Avengers: Endgame. He played the part of Thanos interaction with Nebula. Endgame was one of the highest profitable movies. It was a great commercial success film.

Due to outstanding directions in the films, Joseph Russo was nominated for various awards and he won many of them. His nominations include Saturn Award for Best Director, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. As Russo brothers, his next nomination was for a NAACP Image Award for Best Director (Captain America: Civil War). For the television series 'Arrested Development' which was a comedy series, he won an Emmy award. He won the award for NAACP Image of Best Director for 'Captain America.

Personal life

Joseph Russo is married to Pooja Raj. The couple is having two daughters named Ava Russo and Lia Russo. It is also said that Joseph with his brother help new film makers to come up with their ideas and new concept films.
